Men, gifts and Christmas; though distinct entities, but turn into quite an interesting proposition when put together, just like here on my post “Cool Christmas Gifts for Men”. [Read more…] about Cool Christmas Gifts for Men
Social Media Marketing Mistakes You Want To Avoid
Many people today use social media networking sites, it is very popular among several subgroups. This is why countless businesspeople use these sites to sell products and services to potential customers as well as current ones. In order to achieve the best from social media marketing, the following are some of the common mistakes that you should avoid.
Buying Your Followers
On the surface, this may look like a good way to make your page look more popular. The argument behind this is that people will most likely follow pages that others do. The complication associated with this is that may social media sites incorporate codes that keep monitoring visitor engagement. Since less engagement means limited promotion by the site, it means that you will have paid for useless names on your page.
Doing Too Much
Be careful to not oversell your products if you’re trying to increase the profits of your business. If the only kind of content you share on your pages is statuses encouraging people to buy things or just outright advertisements, you will find your followers losing interest quickly. To attract more of your customers, you should avoid being interested in making sales and posting more interesting and useful knowledge on your page. With time, this will build customer loyalty and as a result, your sales will increase.
When a surefire way to lose business? Ignore the comments you get via social media. Even when the comments say things that you do not necessarily agree with, you need to offer a diplomatic response always. Behaving as if you don’t care about the comments will give the customer the notion that they do not matter at all in your business, this is very devastating considering that good relationship with your customers is important for business success.
Having An Idle Account
One thing many people don’t understand in the beginning is that it can take a while for your audience to build up. Many business owners surrender too easily and stop posting content on their pages on a regular basis. This will push your customers to delete you from their list because of the dormant state of your account since they believe that your account do not address any of their needs thus retaining you is not good. Although you do not want to post very frequently such that followers start feeling overwhelmed, you should focus on providing enough content to hold their interest.
Combining Personal And Business Accounts
It is perfectly permissible to have more than one account on social media sites if they are used for different reasons. Use this capability to your advantage by keeping your business and personal accounts separate. Some believe that blending them will give the company personality, but it rather renders your more unprofessional in the eyes of your audience, this is not favourable for your business.
Despite the fact that social media marketing is one of the least difficult things in the business world, there are some important unspoken rules that must be followed. For good and promising results, you should adhere to the guidelines that will help you refrain from the common mistakes listed above.
NLP – THE HABIT VIRUS
In a research study, five monkeys were placed in a cage with a ladder leading to a bunch of ripe bananas. One monkey headed towards the bananas, but hidden at the top of the ladder was a water spray which showered water over the monkey. So it abandoned the attempt. Another monkey tried; it too was sprayed with water. Each monkey in turn tried, but each was doused and eventually gave up.
The researchers turned off the water spray and removed one monkey from the cage, replacing it with a new one. The new monkey saw the bananas and immediately tried to climb the ladder. However, to its horror, the other monkeys leapt up and stopped it.
Over time the researchers removed and replaced all the original monkeys. Every time a newcomer approached the ladder the other monkeys stopped it from climbing up. None of the remaining monkeys had ever been sprayed, but still no monkey approached the ladder to reach the bananas. As far as they knew that was the way it had always been done. and so the habit was formed.

If you don’t have a friend or colleague available to help edit your document, Draft has an educated college group of writers on staff to look at your work for as little as $5. Just look for the “Ask a Pro” buttons in your documents.
Draft is a Markdown Editor
You can write in plain-text or HTML with Draft. You can also use Markdown.
Markdown allows you to write in easy-to-read text that still converts to HTML. Don’t worry about learning Markdown; it’s simple. For example Bold and Italics. Here’s how you make links: My link. The menu at the top right of edit-mode has the basics you’ll need.

I’ve had Dragon Dictate for a while now, almost forgot I had it! So thought it was about time I sparked it up and gave it a try. In fact, this text has been input directly from DragonDictate into MarsEdit. I’ve left it just as is, no corrections. And to be honest, it seems to be working really well.
Hopefully it will give me the opportunity to enter more content.
